PHS West Crab Feast wrap up

In the afternoon, the weather was a bit cold, cloudy and rainy,
which made us think the snow might make a return to the PHS
West crab feast again. But it calmed down and we all got to stay
in short sleeves and shorts to enjoy 5 bushels of steamed crabs
from the Chesapeake Bay! We had 15 alumni show up who
brought friends and family members along giving us 54 crab
crackers for the night.

Jeff Johnson brought one of his daughters and 14 of her friends
to help celebrate her birthday! They even brought a cake and we
all sang Happy Birthday.

From the class of ’67 to the class of ’86, many years were represented.  We even were introduced to some
new members of our Rocky Mountain alumni group. Two weeks before the event we heard from Mary
Pratt and Sharon Thurston Pittenger (both ’70). They brought the class level up a bit when they pulled out a
bottle of white wine and wine glasses! And what a surprise to see Linda Aaron Chimenti (’71) show up
unannounced!

Linda read about the get together THAT MORNING on the website and simply got in her car and came
up from Denver, not knowing who she’d run into. Linda told us she never liked crabs but just wanted to
come and see who is in the area.

By knowing their crab trivia (ya gotta love those Jimmy Dicks and Sallys), the Loebachs and Warners
each walked away with a pair of tickets to an upcoming Colorado Rockies baseball game.

So at $18 for all-you-can-eat crabs (DELIVERED!), it was quite an evening. And we had enough left over
that we were asking people to PLEASE take some home with them!

Between picking claws and squeezing legs, we took these pictures (thanks Bill Bowen). Next time we hope
to see you out here. Don’t forget your mallets!
